Below are the benefits of introducing Pilates into your healthy and active lifestyle along with the Pilates services offered:
Pilates is a whole body conditioning exercise program that focuses on:
The Principles outlined by Joseph Pilates are: breath, control, concentration, efficiency of movement, centering, core stabilization, flowing movement, and precision.
Benefits of Pilates:
Excellent form of cross training to improve your speed, increase your power, improve your endurance and make you a more competitive athlete.
Injury prevention: Pilates focuses on correcting body mechanics and body alignment resulting in increased efficiency and accelerated performance
Pialtes focuses on balance within your body. Most injuries are a result of muscular imbalance. Pilates focuses on conditioning your body as a whole: emphasizing the muscles that provide stability while strengthening and lengthening the extremities in a variety of movement patterns that can be tailored to your individual needs (ie: sport specific training, recreational activities, body mechanics and postural corrections).
Rehab
Yes, this is considered proper physical therapy as your sessions will be conducted by a licensed physical therapist. Therefore, your insurance can be billed for this Rehab Pilates service. In fact, all other aspects of PT will be used as well, soft tissue massage, laser, ice & stim, and other forms of therapeutic exericse & corrections. The difference is that the mainstay of your treatment will be rehabilitation through the pialtes method.
