Run Gait Analysis
It is not uncommon for people to feel pain while waking or running. A biomechanical gait analysis is a useful tool in diagnosing the reasons for pain.
Here’s how it works:
- A physical therapist first evaluates potential causes for discomfort by examining your flexibility and strength and history of injury.
- Next, you will be observed and videotaped walking/running on our treadmill.
- The therapist will watch your body’s movements from the head down to the toes, looking for abnormalities that are creating the problem or are caused by the problem.
- We will then discuss our findings with you and develop an appropriate strategy to make the mechanical changes needed.
- Next we will prescribe exercises and stretches along with mechanical drills to improve your running or walking form. If orthotics are needed we will discuss that option with you as well.
Who can benefit from a gait analysis?
-
Anyone wanting to improve performance, prevent injury, or address pain associated with running/walking benefit from a gait analysis.
Please bring your running shoes and workout clothes. The session will take approximately 60 minutes.
